3D touch enables software features such as pressing hard to access a shortcut menu for an app, and pressing hard on a website link to show a preview of the web page. 3D Touch has three settings for input sensitivity. This enables users to customize a preference of light, medium, or firm press on the iPhone's screen.

Why was 3D Touch removed from iPhones?

Apple got rid of 3D Touch because it required moving parts. They replaced it with Force Touch (also called “Haptic'' touch), which works just as good, in my opinion.

How to fix 3D Touch on iPhone?

Go to Settings -> General -> Accessability -> Touch -> 3D & Haptic Touch. There is then a setting to enable or disable 3D Touch. Make sure it's enabled. Disabling it disables 3D Touch but does leave haptic touch enabled.
